Afsaneh Chehreh-Azad was born in Tehran. Due to encouragement from her grandmother Roqayyeh Chehreh-Azad and Hossein Kasbian she became interested in performing arts. After finishing an acting course, she debuted in 1987 with “The Years without Home”.

In the 1990s, she began acting in film in supporting roles. Her acting alongside Ali-Reza Khamseh in the drama “Friday is not a Holiday” became a turning point in her career. Despite only having a short role,
she
managed to shine in the film “Boutique” and received the Best Supporting
Actress Award from the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards. Her films
include “Hour 25”, “Spaghetti in 8 minutes” and “Once And For All”. She
has also appeared in the dramas “Hotel”, “The Chef” and “Neighbors”.
